New political movement by MPs and parties backing RW unveiled

The new alliance formed by the combination of all political parties and MPs backing incumbent President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the upcoming presidential election has been launched today (05).

The event was held at the Water’s Edge Hotel in Battaramulla this morning, under the patronage of Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.

Allies of the new alliance include a section of the SLPP, the MEP, TMVP, EPDP, National Congress, Lanka Jathika Estate Workers Union, United Peoples Party, SLMP and the Deshapremi Janatha Balawegaya.

The new alliance is led by PM Gunawardena, while Dr. Ramesh Pathirana has been appointed as the General Secretary.
