Rolls-Royce Customs Saga Explained: Dudley Sirisena Breaks Silence
Since the stories about the Rolls Royce Phantom 8 I brought these days and customs of Sri Lanka circulate in many places, I wanted to share my response with you. (Because we all know that socializing false news in an environment where nothing is properly known)
This is the story. A few months ago I got everything ready to import the luxury vehicle called Phantom 8 belonging to Rolls-Royce mode to Sri Lanka. So it is necessary bank loan, if not LC etc opened and brought the relevant car to Sri Lanka.
After a few days since this car was airfreighted and arrived in Sri Lanka, we came to know that the law regulations related to cross boardering have been brought back to life by customs after 2013. Till then thousands of vehicles were imported to Sri Lanka through this method. (cross bordering is a vehicle manufactured LC should be opened. The country manufactured here was the UK ).
So because of that incident we have to pay a lot of money to get this car free so all I did was pay the relevant return fees and send it back to the company. So in that incident, in an agreement made between me and that company, I agreed to bring that vehicle back to Sri Lanka.
It’s when I heard that they were going to introduce a series of special models limited products for the 100th anniversary of Rolls Royce. And that’s why I’m bringing the car called Rolls Royce Phantom series 8, EWB that I bought to Sri Lanka last day. Because it’s an upgrade that improved the technology than the car it was already delivered.
So guys, this time I have given the vehicle import to a famous intermediate vehicle delivery company in the island. So it’s because they are experienced veterans in the field that I had to pay all the money they had to pay and sit aside and watch.
So thought and just a few days back that company imported my vehicle to Sri Lanka. And then the company who paid all customs fees including taxes on that vehicle brought it and handed it over to me. So since my partiality was completed, I took the vehicle and went abroad for a work trip.
So it’s when it’s just a few days that I hear that customs have charged a fine of 07 crore from the relevant importer for not paying the customs fees properly.
Y’all know when we import a vehicle and it’s done through some brokerage company we won’t interfere in the process until we get the vehicle into our hands. So something like that happened here too. I got my vehicle by paying my importer the whole amount he owed to pay, and beyond what he did didn’t apply to me.
But it was finally that my vehicle importer imported this vehicle for not mentioning it as mode here as ‘Phantom LWB’. It doesn’t matter to me whether my importer was done with an accident or with the intention of making extra profit at this incident is because I only bought an imported vehicle. Before importing the vehicle here I only paid the full amount he promised for it and get the vehicle.
Friends, with this luxury car being an exclusive car released for the 100th anniversary of the Rolls-Royce company, it belongs to the exclusive LWB model, we were charged with the internet.
So Rolls – Royce Anniversary Model comes to the top of the $3 million Phantom-8 centenary car built in comparison to this car. So my car is also a special Anniversary Model, so many people had to confuse those two vehicles models.
All of you who know me know I’m not stupid enough to spend billions on something like a car, no matter how much money I have as a businessman. Because I know very well the difficulty of building a business and the difficulty of maintaining a business today.
So answer to things like this because I haven’t been in Sri Lanka, I saw Atorasi stopped working and wrote a confirmation at least these words. So friends, simply that’s the Custom Penalty story of Rolls Royce..!
P.L.
Many people are requesting to publish photos of dogs at my house who were publicly discussed with this incident. So for them I’m posting some photos of Rosie, Brownie and Bunchies with this.
