The Election Commission has informed several major institutions to prepare for the upcoming presidential election.
Accordingly, the Government Printing Department, the Inspector General of Police, the Ceylon Electricity Board, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board and the Sri Lanka Transport Board have been notified.
Chairman of the Election Commission RMAL Ratnayake said that this step is taken to ensure the smooth conduct of the elections.
The Election Commission recently announced that the presidential election will be held between September 14 and October 16.
