The Matale High Court has taken decisive action, issuing an arrest warrant for the Chairman of the Selection Committee at Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), former international cricketer Upul Tharanga, on the 8th of today.
This legal move stems from Tharanga’s failure to make an appearance in court regarding a serious match-fixing allegation associated with the upcoming 2024 Legends Cricket Tournament.
Interestingly, this case was initiated by Tharanga himself, but reports suggest he has departed the country for commitments related to cricket, neglecting to notify the court of his absence.
