Douglas Devananda arrested by CID over pistol linked to underworld figure
Former Minister Douglas Dewananda (26) has been arrested by the same department in connection with the investigation conducted by the murder investigation department.
The arrest has been made in connection with an investigation related to finding a pistol type firearm that was legally issued to Mr. A by the Armed Forces hidden in a scene near a bokku in 2019, on the statements of an organized criminal.
Mr. Douglas Devananda who was arrested is scheduled to be presented to the Honorable Magistrate Court of Gampaha on 2025.12.27 and the Criminal Investigation Department will further investigate.
