“Dambulla Bustaurant” Set to Offer a Unique Travel and Dining Experience

An innovative tourism attraction, the “Dambulla Bustaurant,” will be introduced to the Dambulla area on January 15, offering visitors a new way to explore the region while enjoying a dining experience on the move.

Designed to cater to tourists visiting the Dambulla–Sigiriya corridor, the specially equipped bus will function as a mobile restaurant, allowing passengers to enjoy meals as they travel through popular destinations. The service will follow a circular route beginning in Pelwehera, continuing through Digampatha, Kimbissa, Sigiriya, and Inamaluwa, and returning to its starting point.

The concept, already popular in several countries, is known for enhancing tourism by creating memorable and immersive journeys. Officials say the initiative is expected to strengthen the region’s appeal by blending local sightseeing with hospitality services.

Operated under the supervision of the Central Provincial Department of Tourism, the “Dambulla Bustaurant” is anticipated to draw interest from both domestic and international visitors, contributing to the growth of tourism in the area.
