Ahead of the Presidential election, the Election Commission has launched an online system enabling voters to access their polling cards.
This applies to those who have not received their polling cards via mail, the process of which ended on 14 September. Voters can also obtain a copy of the polling card online by visiting the e-services section of the EC website: https://eservices.elections.gov.lk.
According to the EC, the polling card is not mandatory to take part in the voting process, as any voter with a valid form of identification can vote if their name is mentioned in the voter list.
The Commission clarified that those voters who have not yet received their official polling cards can still cast their vote at the designated polling centres using a valid identity card.
Further, voters who have not yet received their polling cards by post are encouraged to reach their local post offices to check the status of their delivery.
