Breast cancer death rate in Sri Lanka rises compared to other countries – NCCP

The percentage of breast cancer deaths in Sri Lanka has risen when compared to other countries, National Cancer Control Programme community health specialist Dr. Hasareli Fernando said.

Addressing the media at the Health Promotions Bureau, Dr. Hasareli said that 5,500 women and 125 men are diagnosed with breast cancer annually in Sri Lanka.

Dr. Hasareli added that breast cancer in men is particularly dangerous, as they often succumb to the disease.
